Tasks and duties of the department of Laboratory Accreditation Division

The practical laboratory experiments have a great impact in consolidating theoretical information for the student at one time, and making the academic studies of practical use in serving the community at other times. Therefore, the laboratory accreditation division was created according to the university order number 3720 on 5/27/2015 attached to the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research Scientific / Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority / Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department. Academic/Labs Department with number C/H/1258 on 05/24/2015 to be the fourth division within the structure of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance and specialized in laboratories and aims to:

1- Planning to establish scientific laboratories with integrated facilities in accordance with international standards.
2- Equipping laboratories with modern scientific equipment so that postgraduate students and researchers can benefit from them in their field of specialization.
3- Preparing a trained cadre with experience in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment by holding specialized training courses.
4- Furnishing laboratories and providing the necessary supplies for the continuation of their work to the fullest.

Tasks and activities of the division:

1.Follow-up to the specifications of the laboratories to comply with the requirements of the relevant standards.
2. Inventory of devices and equipment, coding and documenting their data, in coordination with the officials of the relevant laboratories in the educational institution.
3. Follow up the calibration program for devices and equipment with the relevant authorities by conducting an actual audit of the samples in the laboratories.
4. Training of laboratory workers according to type and specialization in accordance with international standards and national standards.
5. Coordination with the Laboratory Accreditation Department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority to achieve the accreditation of laboratories by one of the specialized and relevant authorities in developing and improving laboratories performance.
6. Name and sort the officials employed in laboratories accreditation divisions and units according to specialization and gender throughout the educational institution.
7. Activate the procedures and requirements determined by the laboratory accreditation team.
8. Cooperation within the geographical area with the laboratories accreditation divisions in other educational institutions in the exchange of educational experiences.
Preparing a directory for the model laboratories for each specialty in accordance with international standards, including the type of required device, device specifications and number, and seeks to (the manual of model laboratories) to be a reference for any modern educational institution.
