Statement by the Head of Department

In the name of Allah the most Merciful, the most Compassionate
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) said: “Allah, Almighty loves for you to perfect a good deed when you perform it." From this perspective, Al-Zahraa University for Women is well attentive to competence and proficiency at all employment levels the academic and the administrative alike. This strive for perfection is well apparent in the University’s interest in quality standards and performance excellence. Consequently, the Quality Department is making every effort to draw up improvement plans, evaluate performance and apply quality standards and systems in the community of Al-Zahraa University for Women. These efforts are primarily deployed to achieve the mission of the University namely, to promote a distinguished academic and administrative system that provides an integrated female student-centered educational system underpinned by curricula and teaching strategies that are compatible with modern time evolutions. Furthermore, ongoing endeavors by the University staff are directed to provide an academic environment that satisfies the aspirations of students, faculty members and employees in pursuit of a competitive edge for Al-Zahraa University for Women in Iraq and beyond specifically in regional and global competitions. The Quality Department also aims to make a contribution to the attainment of the University's mission, particularly in fulfilling the requirements of the National Academic Accreditation Authority as well as those of international accreditation bodies.

Duties of the department head

1. Supervising the department's employees and distributing tasks according to their respective job profiles.

2. Formulate plans and programs for the department's work.

3. To Examine the department queries received via emails and refer it to the specialized divisions.

4. To answer the inquiries of colleges and institutes regarding the application of quality standards in their colleges and institutes.

5. Conducting field visits to all colleges and institutes to give lectures and check the extent to which colleges and institutes apply quality standards.

6. Determining the shortcomings in the performance of colleges and institutes and determining the size of the gap in performance.

7. Addressing colleges and institutes and defining frameworks that conform to standards with regard to completing educational portfolios, job descriptions, and others.

8. Giving lectures to the associates at the university presidency to spread a culture of quality among the associates.

9. Preparing the necessary readings to provide information to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in various fields.

11. Follow up on the completion of an updated database of teachers, technicians, and infrastructure for university colleges and institutes.

12. Membership of the relevant committees inside the university and in the center of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

13. Holding training and development courses for workers in the quality and university performance units in all colleges and institutes affiliated with the university.

Secretary of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance

Tasks and duties 

1. Indexing and archiving of all official correspondences issued by the respective department or received by it.

2. Printing all official books, minutes of meetings and minutes of committees.

3. Follow-up and circulation of the department's mail.

4. Circulation of people's mail within the department.

5. Completion of all assignments received from the director of the department.
